I have learned of the remarkable initiative of the indigenous peopleof Colombia to make a Minga to protest the crimes of the state and itsforeign supporters, to defend their most elementary human rights, andto open the way for a decent future for themselves and all ofColombia. The rise of the indigenous populations of South America inrecent years has been a real inspiration to everyone who valuesfreedom and justice. Few have suffered such brutality as theindigenous people of Colombia. I would like to express my greatadmiration and respect for your dedication to the highest values, andmy hope that you will have real success in your courageous andhonorable efforts.
